This alternative option for week 2 takes you further into South India to the beautiful hillside Ayurvedic resort at Om Beach. For those wanting to get totally away from it all, to have spacious accommodation and incredible views, Om Beach Ayurvedic Resort* will be very hard to beat. Set in a wooded hillside surrounded by tropical plants, birds and animals, here you will find not just Ayurveda, you will also find complete peace and quiet. Individual bungalows with views out over the ocean, offer the chance of some of the most wonderful Sunsets you may ever see.

The fully equipped Ayurvedic Centre offers you the additional training or the chance to relax and experience the joys of ayurveda, or of course a mix of both.

Training at Om is arranged when you arrive and is based on the knowledge you have obtained so far on the course. On arrival, after a day to relax and unwind from the journey down from Goa (about 3 ½ hours), You, along with a member of the Ayurvedic Team, can decide how much time you want to spend in the Ayurveda Centre and how much you want to spend, an hour or more each day perhaps. You can of course, also decide that rest and relaxation are what you need and spend the week on the tropical beach of Om! The choice is yours.

Breakfast in the open sided restaurant is just the start of another wonderful day.

Programme as follows:
Day 8: Kati Vasti . Kati means the lower region of the vertebral spine and vasti implies a container. A small receptacle of black gram dough is made on the lower back (lumbo sacral region) and hot medicated oil is poured in the receptacle and retained in the region for a specific duration.
Day 9: Shirodhara
Shirodhara is a luxuriant and easy way to achieve instant calm and rejuvenation. It derives from two Sanskrit words: shiro and dhara. Shiro means head and dhara means to flow. It involves the warm and consistent flow of aromatic oils on the forehead, specifically on the 'third eye'. This is the chakra point just above and between the eyebrows. It is said to be the seat of human consciousness. The oils are allowed to flow over the scalp and through the hair, creating a blissful sensation.
Day 10: Shirodhara. Include your own Shirodhara Bowl made out of local Neam wood in the traditional manner plus your starter pack of Shirodhara oil.
Day 11: Khizi. Kizhi treatment is a therapy wherein heated herbs and medicinal oils are tied in cloth bags; and placed on the area to be treated. This is followed by specific massages, done using the fingers, heel of the hand or palm. The pressure application varies according to the nature of ailment and the spot.
Day 12: Manya Vasti. The above procedure (day 8) is applied to the cervical spine and is called as ‘manya vasti’.
Day 13: At leisure
Day 14: A fond farewell
